The bullpen to a pitcher is where “it” happens.

This is the time to better understand individual strengths and weaknesses in a practice environment so that when it’s game time, you have already been “there”.

Make your pitches in the bullpen so that your pitches show up as natural come game time, rather than forced. The difference between those “feelings” become more and more felt as a pitcher progresses through the various levels of baseball.

Bullpens should be about feel rather than velocity.

Feel the rubber.

Feel your balance.

Feel your quiet head.

Feel your body coiling and storing energy as you stay connected on your backside as long as possible.

Feel your body moving downhill towards the direction of your focal point.

Feel your front foot plant as your throwing hand has made it to an optimal position ready to accept the kinetic load.

Feel your throwing arm become “whippy” and “loose” as you are now about to release the baseball to its desired destination with the upmost feel.

This is a productive bullpen.

A bullpen of feel.

A bullpen of imrovement.
